CEOs pick in-house advisers

Investment bankers may soon have a new breed of competitor to grapple with: the in-house M&A adviser.

Corporate development officers, or the heads of in-house merger and acquisition teams, are increasingly gaining more power and influence, driven in part by chief executives’ concerns about the risks associated with bad deals.
