Chinese stocks at eleven-month high

Shanghai closed at an eleven-month high on Thursday after the World Bank raised its 2009 growth forecast for China, while most other Asia Pacific stock markets fell for the fourth day on worries over the global economic recovery.

US President Barack Obama’s proposals for a tougher financial regulatory system sparked concerns over the prospects of the banking industry, pushing financial shares down.
