Kleinwort Benson, one of the City of London’s oldest and venerable private banks, is considering a management buy-out as it prepares to change hands more than 150 years after it was founded.
The private bank is one of several assets that the European Commission has stipulated its owner Commerzbank must sell as a condition of taking €18.2bn (£16.3bn) of state aid from the German government.
