Overview: Risk aversion prompts profit-taking

Equities, commodities and emerging market currencies retreated on Monday as a mood of heightened risk-aversion prompted a round of profit-taking among investors.

Analysts pointed to this week’s interest rate decision by the Federal Reserve and the forthcoming meeting of G20 finance ministers as probable catalysts for the more cautious tone.
