Kazakh banks to face liquidity challenges

Moody’s Investor Service on Monday warned that the outlook for Kazakhstan’s banking industry was negative, reflecting deteriorating asset quality and stressed funding conditions.

Kazakh banks have undergone a tough survival test since the onset of the global financial crisis a year ago ended a spell of foreign borrowing to fund an oil-driven domestic consumer boom.
