M&S shuns bags but still wraps everything in plastic

From Mr Malcolm Rasala.

Sir, Tom Braithwaite's article "M&S bag fee captures green mood" (February 29) was based on wonderful Marks and Spencer public relations but is not the real story. Walk around the food department of any M&S store: everything is in plastic. The sandwiches are in plastic, the fruit, the meat, the yogurts - virtually everything apart from the wine, and even that is sold in plasticised cartons.
