BATS Trading, the Kansas City-based alternative equities platform, yesterday said it would go live in Europe on November 1, ending months of speculation over when it would launch in the region.

Mark Hemsley, chief executive of BATS' European venture, said BATS would shortly be finalising office space in London. "We're launching in November," he told the Financial Times.
