Michael Page feels the weight of global woes

Global economic woes have hit Michael Page International as the specialist staffing agency reported a 30 per cent fall in gross profit for the first two months of 2009.

The company, which attains slightly less than 50 per cent of gross profit from financial services and accounting, said on Thursday it had reduced headcount by a further 452 in the first two months of the year.
