Sarkozy praised for Brussels agreement

Nicolas Sarkozy, France’s president, is basking in the praise of his fellow European Union leaders after steering them to summit agreements on how to fight climate change and economic recession.

“Thanks to his energy and charisma, he was capable of taking decisions in an unconventional manner, not feeling hemmed in by the detailed work of the bureaucrats,” said Donald Tusk, Poland’s prime minister.
