LSE part of group eyeing LCH.Clearnet bid

The London Stock Exchange has confirmed it is part of a consortium involving Icap, the inter-dealer broker, and about 10 investment banks that is considering making a cash offer for LCH.Clearnet, Europe’s largest independent clearing house.

The development is the latest twist in an increasingly complex set of developments centred on clearing, the infrastructure underpinning much securities trading.
