Airline chief faces fresh marathon

Having participated in the New York marathon three times Mats Jansson, chief executive of SAS Scandinavian Airlines, is used to long distance running, but his stamina faces a new test, as he tries to push through the latest round of restructuring at the Nordic carrier.

He said on Tuesday: “2008 will probably go down in history as one of the most challenging and turbulent years that the entire aviation industry has ever experienced”.
