Uncertainty hits Dow Jones stock

Shares of Dow Jones, owner of the Wall Street Journal, were volatile on Friday amid continued uncertainty about whether the company’s controlling Bancroft family would back a sale to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp.

Family members met on Monday to discuss whether or not to accept Mr Murdoch’s offer of $60-per-share, a deal that has the backing of the Dow Jones board, which includes some representatives from the Bancroft family.
