The private sector is being asked to fund increased security at gas pipelines as part of new measures aimed at countering the threat of international terrorism.

According to Tuesday’s Queen’s Speech, new funding arrangements for protecting key national infrastructure from attack will form part of a new counter-terrorism bill to be published next month.
