Kenya’s failing crisis talks suspended

Talks to end the Kenyan crisis were suspended on Tuesday after Kofi Annan, the chief mediator, vented his frustration over a lack of “goodwill and determination” from negotiators.

The talks are seen as the best hope for reunifying a polarised country and Kenyans fear their collapse would trigger a new round of unrest, ethnic cleansing and economic chaos.
