Resignations damage mayoral image

They were the two highest-profile appointments made by Boris Johnson after his election as London mayor, installed to carry out central manifesto pledges.

Ray Lewis, deputy mayor for young people, was brought in to spearhead Mr Johnson's plans to tackle youth crime. Tim Parker, the so-called "prince of darkness", was to cut waste in London's administration.
