UBM and ITV settle dispute over franchises

United Business Media and ITV, the commercial television broadcaster created by last year's merger of Granada and Carlton Communications, have settled a dispute related to Granada's £1.75bn acquisition of UBM's ITV franchises in 2000.

The settlement involved a £32m payment from ITV to UBM.
