Screen gems boosts Cineworld

Britons’ insatiable appetite for new films helped Cineworld, the UK’s second-largest cinema operator, buck the media sector trend and report a sharp rise in interim turnover.

Sales for the 27 weeks to July rose 18 per cent to £162m (£137m) and pre-tax profits rose to £11.6m (£8.7m).
