Hotel price war hots up

A marketing catfight has broken out in the UK’s hotel industry as operators fight to persuade leisure customers into their rooms.

Travelodge, the budget hotel group, was last month found by the advertising standards watchdog to have misled the public for comparing its £39-a-night rooms to the £65 offer of Express by Holiday Inn.
