Chinese manufacturers continue to reduce prices

Chinese manufacturers are continuing to cut prices, despite two years of having to absorb sharply rising raw materials costs, because of fears that they will lose market share and revenue to local competitors.

The persistence of cut-throat competition between Chinese companies is squeezing profits, but also helping to propel the country's growing and politically sensitive trade surplus.
