Radicals to put pressure on new Bolivian president

Bolivia's new president may face renewed pressures from radical indigenous groups seeking nationalisation of the gas industry and the creation of an assembly to rewrite the constitution.

Eduardo Rodríguez, the head of the Supreme Court, became president on Thursday night after Congress accepted the resignation of Carlos Mesa. He is expected to be in office no more than six months while fresh elections are arranged.
