BlackRock was “the biggest firm nobody has ever heard of”, according to a short movie shown at the asset manager’s 20th birthday party last year.
But after completing the $13.5bn acquisition of Barclays Global Investors’ $1,400bn in funds under management and turning itself into the world’s biggest asset manager with $2,700bn under management, it will soon be hard to find anyone who has not heard of BlackRock.
