Somali pirates and the owners of a ship they hijacked carrying 33 military tanks are nearing a deal to release it after two months of negotiations.

A spokesman for the pirates said they had agreed a ransom with the Ukrainian ship's owners and were making arrangements to get safe passage back to Somalia, according to Bloomberg.
