US says details of Cuban prison still secret

The Obama administration has insisted that revealing details about the detention of a Guantánamo Bay inmate would violate US state secrets, in the latest twist in a transatlantic dispute about torture allegations and intelligence co-operation between London and Washington.

In court proceedings in California on Monday, the US Department of Justice maintained the position of the Bush administration over the case of Binyam Mohamed, a former British resident now held at Guantánamo.
