Ireland forecasts modest growth in 2011

Ireland’s economy is “over the worst”, the country’s central bank said on Tuesday as it predicted a return to modest growth in 2011.

But the bank’s assistant director-general said there was “no choice” but to tackle the fiscal deficit through tax increases or cuts in public expenditure.
