Economic Outlook: Recovery indicators awaited

The economic debate in recent months has focused on the likely shape of the recession and putative recovery. Data watchers can now identify many signs of a slowing in the pace of contraction, if not yet much hard evidence of genuine recovery.

An overview of trends in the global economy will be provided by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s composite leading indicators for April, released on Monday.
