Veto sparks search for new TNK-BP chief

Shareholders of TNK-BP, the Russian oil venture half-owned by BP, have reopened the search for a new independent chief executive after the Russian billionaire shareholders called a sudden halt last week to the expected appointment of Denis Morozov.

Mr Morozov’s appointment had been months in the making, widely flagged in the press as a done deal and, according to people familiar with the process, agreed by both sides.
