Obama renews sanctions against Burma

President Barack Obama on Friday renewed sanctions against Burma, saying the actions of the ruling military junta remained “hostile” to the US.

Mr Obama took the decision as the international community heaped condemnation on the military rulers in Rangoon over their move to try Aung San Suu Kyi, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning democracy advocate.
