Circuit City plans auction

Circuit City, the US electronics retailer under bankruptcy court protection, plans to auction all or part of its business in a move that could allow its US and Canadian stores to continue as a going concern.

The retailer, which filed for bankruptcy protection in early November, said it was “engaged in significant discussions, meetings and negotiations with two highly motivated and interested parties concerning the terms of a going concern transaction”.
