FSA bows to criticism on transparency

The Financial Services Authority is set to bow to criticism from the financial industry by accepting the need for greater transparency in the way it pursues those it suspects of breaking its rules.

A long-awaited consultation paper by David Strachan, the FSA's director of retail firms, is expected to recommend this week that the watchdog give companies and individuals under investigation a clearer idea of the case being made against them.
