GM and Chrysler prepare to face officials

Executives from General Motors and Chrysler will start talks with Obama administration officials this week as the government considers whether to grant ­billions of dollars more aid for the companies or push them into bankruptcy.

The meetings with senior officials from the White House and Treasury department will mark the carmakers’ first face-to-face contact with the administration since requesting fresh federal support last week.
