Regulatory talking-shop fights for more active role

For some, it has been seen as one group too many in the alphabet soup of international regulators and standard setters. Iosco, or the international organization of securities commissions, has been called the regulators’ regulator, a mere talking shop and a toothless watchdog.

But as its annual four-day conference broke up on Thursday, its members were putting out a far more vigorous message.
