Police step up monitoring after three nights of clashes in Windsor

Police are monitoring urban areas with mixed racial and religious communities after three nights of clashes between white youths and Muslims in Windsor and fears of an upsurge in social tension during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Under Home Office guidelines introduced in the summer, each police force in England and Wales is required to collate data on allegations of faith crime and submit them to a national community policing tension team of senior officers for analysis and strategic response.
