YouTube ruling puts privacy in focus

What are the chances that your viewing habits on YouTube will cease to be a private matter known only to you and the managers of the online video service?

That question was raised on Thursday by a US legal ruling that was immediately denounced by privacy advocates as another step in the progressive erosion of personal privacy on the internet.
