Agricole mulls alliance with Chinese bank

Crédit Agricole is in talks with Agricultural Bank of China, the smallest and weakest of the country's "Big Four" state banks, to form a domestic fund management joint venture.

Crédit Agricole would be the fourth foreign group to form a link-up with a Chinese lender, reflecting the French group's determination to tap China's massive savings pool, which includes $2,500bn worth of deposits.
