Peter Cadbury, flamboyant founder of Westward Television who has died at the age of 88, starred in one of the most spectacular boardroom battles of the 1980s.

Tears, claims of police persecution, accusations of censoring TV news bulletins and an action in the High Court all featured in the bitterly fought campaign to wrest control of Westward away from Cadbury.
