IAC/InterActiveCorp, the internet conglomerate headed by media mogul Barry Diller, will on Wednesday unveil a revamp of its newly-acquired Ask Jeeves search engine to show fewer paid links, bringing its strategy more in line with that of rivals such as Google.

IAC, whose brands include HSN home shopping network and travel website Expedia, said too many paid links cluttered the search results on Ask Jeeves. The revamp of Ask Jeeves, the number four US search engine, will include reducing paid links, increasing the amount of direct advertising, and improving the search function in consumer categories such as concert tickets.
