Democratic legislators prepare stimulus plan

Democratic legislators in the US are set to approve hundreds of billions of dollars in funding to deal with the financial crisis and are also preparing a multibillion- dollar stimulus package, Congressional aides said on Friday.

Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives, has told President George W. Bush she will keep Congress in session to work on legislation to take toxic private sector assets on to the government’s books.
