The drug sector this week enjoyed its best performance since the current bull market started in 2003.

As the economic outlook continues to deteriorate, and investors look for safe places to warehouse cash, the FTSE Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology index rose 7.4 per cent, against the FTSE 100, which fell 2.3 per cent.
