‘Jobless recovery’ predicted to last

The world should get used to the idea of a “jobless recovery”, with unemployment staying high and companies waiting a long time before hiring new staff, the International Monetary Fund warned on Thursday.

Even though the performance of labour markets has differed sharply across the world since the crisis began, the IMF believes that employment growth will be sluggish everywhere in the coming upswing.
