India’s Sachin Tendulkar on Friday became the highest run scorer in Test match history during his innings of 88 in his country’s first innings of the second Test against Australia in Mohali, overtaking the 11,953 runs scored by West Indian Brian Lara. He also became the first player to score 12,000 Test runs when he had reached 61.
Tendulkar’s runs have come in 247 innings and he has scored 39 centuries and 50 half-centuries. He is also the leading run scorer in limited overs matches.
