Economic aide joins White House exodus

One of George W. Bush's closest economic advisers is to step down at the end of this year, adding to an exodus of senior officials from the White House.

The departure of Al Hubbard, director of the Na-tional Economic Council, comes as Mr Bush faces some of the toughest economic challenges of his -presidency.
