Latest cancer drug off NHS list as Roche refuses to supply data

British patients will lose the chance of treatment with Roche's latest and most expensive cancer medicine after the Swiss pharmaceuticals group refused to cooperate with the government's medicines advisory body.

The National Institute for Clinical Health and Excellence - Nice - has advised against the National Health Service using Avastin for first-line lung and breast cancer after Roche declined to answer requests for data on the drug's clinical and cost effectiveness.
