Complexity is out as banks fight to survive

Investment bankers are betting that, as 2008 was so bad, the only way is up.

As revenue from creating and trading complex securities shrivels, investment banks are counting on their traditional core businesses of underwriting equities and bonds and giving merger advice to see them through the crisis.
