A court in military-ruled Burma agreed on Friday to allow an appeal by detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi against her conviction for breaching the terms of her house arrest.
The Nobel laureate, confined to her own house since 2003, was sentenced to a further 18-month house arrest last month for sheltering John Yettaw, the American who swam across a lake to reach her waterside villa in May.
