World's economies feel impact of oil volatility

Currency and bond markets shrugged aside surging inflation numbers this week and focused on the deteriorating prospects for global growth.

The strong advance in oil and other commodity prices earlier this year is widely viewed as having hurt the growth outlook and sparked a temporary spike in headline inflation.
