The world economy cannot expect to get back to business as usual once the recession ends, with scars from the crisis likely to last for some time, said the head of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
Speaking ahead of yesterday's launch of its Economic Outlook, Angel Gurria, the OECD's secretary-general, said: "It's not just a case of saying [the world] will recover its growth in 2010 and then live happily ever after - there are wounds and there is scar tissue."
