Ian King, the new chief executive of BAE Systems, could take home more than £2.25m in cash this year if he meets a series of certain performance targets at the helm of Europe’s biggest defence contractor.

Mr King, who took over as chief executive in September last year, will receive a base salary of £900,000 this year, according to BAE’s latest annual report.
