Fashion label cuts pattern to grow

Marc Jacobs, the American label whose more accessible Marc by Marc Jacobs line closed London Fashion Week yesterday, is embarking on a significant global expansion this year with London as a launch point, according to Robert Duffy, the company's co-founder.

The UK is Marc Jacobs's fourth largest market after Japan, the US and China, and the show was the most anticipated of the week. Mr Duffy said he had seen more Marc Jacobs handbags in London than in almost any other city he had visited.
