Security fears growing ahead of Haiti’s elections

Haiti goes to the polls on Tuesday amid fears that violence in the politically fragmented and socially polarised country could disrupt voting.

Two years after former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted in a bloody revolt, some 9,000 international peacekeepers are struggling to disarm gangs and ensure the safety of voters.
