Political fury over F Telecom suicides

Didier Lombard, chief executive of France Telecom, faced calls for his resignation on Tuesday as he found himself at a centre of a political storm in France following the 24th suicide by a company employee in 18 months.

France’s opposition socialists and far-left parties demanded that Mr Lombard quit the company immediately and take “responsibility” for the management practices that unions say have pushed some vulnerable staff members to the edge.
